"... The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American and Histor"y will focus its celebration of the federal holiday around the Senses of Freedom: Exploring the Tastes, Sounds, and Experiences of an African Americans.

Similarly, our Juneteenth celebration at the Blue Triangle will encompass a variety of programs to commemorate the declaration of freedom for more than 250,000 enslaved African Americans in alignment with the selected theme. We will host a historical panel discussion which will be live streamed featuring Ms. Charlotte K. Bryant, Executive Director and Founder of the Blue Triangle Multi-Cultural Association, Inc. and Ms. Jacqueline Bostic, Great Granddaughter of Rev. Jack Yates.

Additionally, we will incorporate music accompanied by stories to better show the influence on African American music on society, explore the art of gardening and culinary art in the Black community, and showcase the Dr. John Biggers mural depicting the heroic survival of African Americans and their contributions to life and education.

We are also pleased to host the traveling social justice documentary and exhibit of “The Making of George in Bronze” which reflects on the past, assesses the present, and envisions a better future.
